Sharm Cressey Wearing Animal Print Pashmina

Sharm Cressey is the exclusive importer and distributor of Cashmere (Pashmina) blankets, throws and shawls in the United States.

Pashmina originates from Persia as the word for Cashmere. The word took on new meaning years ago with the introduction of this high quality product in the United States. In the U.S. fashion industry, it has more commonly come to represent a woven shawl of cashmere and silk. Products are woven of luxurious cashmere, wool and silk fibers, creating the warmest, softest and lightest of all fabrics. This fabric blend is remarkably warm in spite of its lightweight.

Cashmere can only come from Kashmir goats raised in the Himalayan mountain region. The Himalayan goats produce such exquisite wool because of the high elevations at which they live some 14,500 feet and above; where temperatures rarely rise above minus 30 degrees Fahrenheit in Winter. Cashmere comes from the goats soft underbelly down which is shed each Spring. The Cashmere fibers are collected either from rocks and bushes or brushed from the underbelly of the goat. The fibers are sorted, cleaned and spun into yarn; then woven by master weavers and individually piece dyed, using the highest quality Swiss dyes and dried. Some of the underbelly fibers comes from the Capra Hircus goat, and will responsibly be labeled "wool".

NO HARM COMES TO THE GOATS IN THE COLLECTION OF THE PASHMINA WOOL.

The ultimate indulgence is a 100% Cashmere (Pashmina) item. The most popular form is called Pashmina Silk. It is a blend ranging from 70% Cashmere/Wool & 30% Silk to 55% Cashmere / 45% silk as in the Twill Weave Blanket. Most clients prefer a blend as the silk adds strength and shine to the items.

With literally hundreds of colors to choose from, the extensive color swatch selection is compelling, be certain to reference the color swatch chart for your selection, and remember....you can special order one piece of any one color.

Sharm Cressey is committed to a selective and strategically located distribution in specialty markets across the United States.
